Teledyne e2v co-chair group to represent the industrial voice of quantum technology in the UK.
Chelmsford, UK – 16 July 2019 Teledyne e2v, a Teledyne Technologies company, hosted the UK’s Quantum Technology Leadership Group (QTLG) kick off meeting. The QTLG, co-chaired by Dr. Trevor Cross, Chief Technology Officer and Head of Quantum Technologies at Teledyne e2v and Dr. Graeme Malcom OBE, CEO of M Squared Lasers, was assembled at the request of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), to be responsible for bringing together the views of industry and providing a single point of contact for government and wider stakeholders. This highlights Teledyne e2v’s significant role in cohering the industrial voice of quantum technology in the UK.
The formation of the QTLG coincides with the announcement at London Tech week (10th June 2019), that there will be £153 million government funding to for a second phase of the UK National Quantum Technology Programme (NQTP) . The continued commitment from the UK government to co-fund the NQTP, means that companies like Teledyne e2v, can accelerate the commercialisation of quantum technology based products and services.
As the technology begins to enable commercial new capabilities and applications, Teledyne e2v’s aims are to develop a sustainable and significant export focused business in this area and to continue to play a pivotal role in developing the UK and wider supply chain.
