How to tame your Quantum Technology – Live Panel Session at the UK National Quantum Technologies Showcase

The Teledyne e2v quantum science and engineering team will be providing insight into the quantum technologies they are developing in the fields of timing, imaging, gravity, and how they are working towards space-based applications and the challenges they face.

Through the Quantum Technologies Showcase online platform, Teledyne e2v will deliver an interactive 45-minute session where you will get to listen to interviews with the project and product leads in each specialist field, see a brief glimpse inside the labs where they are developing these groundbreaking technologies, and explain how they approach the industrialisation of academic research to apply and be useful in real-world applications.

Titled, “How to tame your quantum technology” – looks to highlight how it is possible to bring quantum technology to industry.  The session will draw upon case studies from Teledyne e2vâ€s quantum programme which is actively bringing cold atom gravity sensors, atomic clocks, space hardware, and quantum key distribution to real-world applications.  There will also be an opportunity to ask business and technical questions of the team.

Alongside the space imaging business where Teledyne e2v devices have built up over 5000 years of space heritage; Teledyne e2v has significant activity in developing quantum technology.  This covers scientific imaging, cold atom technology for ground-based gradiometers, cold atom technology for space missions, space quantum key distribution, and compact time and frequency solutions.

Pulling on its heritage in delivering cutting edge image sensors into space applications over the last 30 years, Teledyne e2v draw lessons and considerations for putting quantum technology into real-world applications.  In the virtual booth, we will provide a whistle-stop tour of Teledyne e2vâ€s facilities and activities, showcasing clean rooms and assembly facilities for space products, environmental test and qualification capabilities, system integration laboratories and atomic clock production facilities.
